BEING ON SOCIAL MEDIA SUCKS [HARD]

This little blog post will be about the experience of a social media consumer. To be clear: This little blog will be about me - of course it will be!

Some of you may have heard that the term "social media" is said to be ironic, mostly because of positive feedback loops caused by negative "antisocial" behavior, like for example: rage-bait or engagement-bait.

Another reason - and this is something I personally struggle with - is the suggested need to be perfect in every little aspect of your life.
Well, I'm doing my best to accept the mistakes I make in real life - I'm trying so hard - but when it comes to posting something online, I've become really harsh to myself.

I've seen people online talking so much shit, that I fear to be the shit, they talk one day.

So I've stopped posting, and became the consumer. I like the things I like, and share the things I wanna share. I fear to comment on posts because I don't wanna be found by people with hateful attitudes. I feel silenced by the fact that I'm not perfect.

And I haven't even touched the fact, that these mainstream social media sites forces creators to produce viral content for their algorithms while the maintenance for a community friendly platform has been neglected if not intentionally dismantled.

I've started to use social media in hopes to find a place I can thrive creatively. And now I'm stuck on a feeding tube, while being harvested of my sweet data.

MY CONTENT SHOULDN'T BE YOUR PROFIT
FUCK SOCIAL MEDIA!!
